Sarah started her career path intuitively at 17 years old when she chose to treat her depression and anxiety by using physical exercise, music and nutrition. The way the body could change the mind’s perspective in an instant was fascinating to her, and the fields of Health and Psychology quickly become her two passions. She received bachelor degrees in both fields and went on to get a Master’s Degree from Naropa University in 1999. In this experience-based graduate program she learned first hand the effects of meditation and mindfulness on the brain, traditional cognitive/behavioral therapy and deeper therapies such as bodymind psychotherapy, energy healing and transpersonal counseling techniques.
In 2001 Sarah became a Certified Personal Trainer doing “mindful personal training” and in 2004 she became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC #3751) in Colorado. Since then, her career has included grief and loss counseling and therapeutic support in-home, in a hospice setting, and a bodymind coaching business. Sarah also spent a decade of her career using her counseling skills and ability to be present with traumatic situations in a career supporting families in a hospital setting. These families had tragically lost their loved one and decided to save others' lives by donating solid organs for transplant.
She founded Chakra Strength after becoming Usui Reiki Master Level II and deepening her knowledge of body energy centers by graduating from a Chakra Alchemy Program as well as offering Kidding Around Yoga, a fun way to engage kids in the practice of meditation and physical activity. Another highlight of her career was having the opportunity of being the weekly Health and Wellness reporter for KVTA 1590AM "Girls On the Air” radio show from 2015-2019.
When she came across the Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) in 2017 she dove in to this life-changing and deep therapy modality, which reignited her formal psychotherapy background. She now works privately as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC #12496) in Ventura, California. She continues to incorporate psychotherapy and strength training, and loves to study the latest in psychoneuroimmunology and physical health and wellness. she sits on the board for Crm Equus, a non-profit equine therapy organization in western Pennsylvania, maintains her Amercian Council of Exercise (ACE) certification, and is adding an integrative Nutrition for Mental Health Certification and equine therapist certification through Natural Lifemanship (NL). Her commitment to health and wellness continues as she offers her clients the latest in all things body and mind, toward the intention of truly healing the negative effects of trauma on the human being.
